So, what is DownToMeet?

DownToMeet is a platform to create, find, and attend group events, created by group organizers, for group organizers. We empower organizers with all the tools they need to build and grow. Our mission is to help build and maintain communities that are meaningful and engaged, where every member feels like they belong.


DownToMeet was developed for organizers who were lacking the functionality they so desperately desired from other group event services. It was designed for people who have better things to do with their time than learn new tools and create endless workarounds to simple tasks.

So, we decided to build a robust and feature-packed platform that would encapsulate every group organizer’s needs and most importantly, be user-friendly.

We’re not here to reinvent the wheel, just to make it roll smoother.

Oh, and we’re super into privacy. We don't sell user information and we store personal information in encrypted form. Real email addresses and names will never be visible to anyone, including organizers.

Our team of talented engineers have years of experience in building highly-scalable systems, so the platform was built to support groups of any size — whether you have 50, 5,000 or even 50,000 members, we’re down for it.

What’s with the name?

Sometime around the 1930s, the cool cats started using “down” as a form of agreement. “Want to check out the new jazz club?” “I’m down!” And it stuck. Well, we’re pretty big fans of the Jazz age and we’re always down to make friends. Are you?
